Last year Kawasaki introduced the Prairie 400 two-wheel drive all-terrain vehicle (ATV), which was based on the award winning Prairie 400 4x4. The enthusiast magazines loved it, and consumers thought highly of it too. With its easy-to-use fully automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT), plush suspension, excellent handling and comfortable layout, the Prairie 400 2X4, continues the tradition of excellence. Kawasaki builds on the highly-acclaimed Prairie 400 ATV line with many revisions to the 1999 model to make it even better. There is more horsepower, a totally-revamped Kawasaki Automatic Power-Drive System (KAPS) for increased performance, a revised shifting mechanism, new rear brake assembly and distinctive styling refinements.
